OHS&R Policy

At JSI our Occupational Health Safety and Rehabilitation policy is founded with the strong belief that the well-being of people employed to work on our projects or visiting our sites is our top priority and must and is considered at all times before and during any work performed on our behalf. As people are our most important asset, their health and safety is our greatest responsibility.

OBJECTIVES

The principal objectives of our Occupational Health Safety and Rehabilitation Policy are: –

  • Provide safe worksites and system of work.
  • Achieve and maintain an accident free workplace.
  • Make health and safety a key accountability for every managerial and supervisory position.
  • Ensure that health and safety is incorporated in all planning and work processes.
  • To educate, consult and review with our workers on a regular basis on safety issues and our current safety practices.
  • JSI provides ongoing training and education to ensure that our employees work in the safest possible manner.
  • To identify potential accidents / incidents before they occur and proactively assess these on a regular basis.
  • To provide effective injury management and rehabilitation for all employees.

RESPONSIBILITIES

A safe workplace is ultimately the responsibility of management and the success of our health and safety management is depended upon: –

  • The proactive identification of hazards for all work activities via Risk assessment and the adoption of Safe Work Method Statements to control the risks that cannot be eliminated.
  • Ensuring that all workers are inducted onto sites, are fully versed on all aspects of all our sites, have read and understood their Safe Work Method statements prior to commencing work.
  • Ensure that any contractor on site is as committed as we are in maintaining high vigilance on site for their people and others on site.
  • Ensure that open and honest communication exists between management and all employees.
